If you died today are you 100% sure that you would go to heaven? That is a powerful question. I want to tell you today how that you can be 100% sure.
Lets start from the beginning. If some unfortunate accident happened right now and your life ended, are you 100% sure that you would go to heaven?
Imagine finding yourself standing at the gates of heaven before Jesus, and He asked you why He should let you into heaven? What would you say? Wow! What a time to have the wrong answer. Let me tell you what the Bible says.
The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that we have all sinned. We have all messed up in our life. It might be we have lied, cheated, stolen something or some other sin. I know that I am guilty of a few sins in my life, how about you? Have you ever committed any of these sins or maybe some others? Of course you have, we all have.
The Bible goes on to tell us in Romans 6:23, that the payment for these sins is to spend an eternity in Hell. It says that the wages or payment for sin is death! So we have already confessed that we have sinned, does that mean we have to go to hell when we die? Hang on, the Bible has some good news as well.
The Bible also tells us in Romans 10:13 that whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved! That is great news! That means anyone who confesses that they are a sinner and calls upon the Name of Jesus to forgive them of their sins and be Lord of their life shall escape hell and spend eternity living with Jesus in heaven!
Let me ask you a question, Is there any reason in your wildest imagination that you would want to spend an eternity in hell? Me either! Let me ask you to pray the same type of prayer that I prayed. All you are going to do is repeat what you have already said. Say this prayer and mean it from your heart:
Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I have done things wrong in my life. I am sorry for my sins and I ask you right now to forgive me of them and I want to accept this free gift of eternal life. I ask you to be Lord of my life and help me to live for you. Amen!
Did you mean that prayer? Great! Here are three things then you need to do:
#1 Read your Bible everyday. When you read your Bible this one way for God to talk to you.
#2 Pray everyday. This is simply you talking to God.
